FAQ

Where does your honey come from?

Our honey comes from the Andes mountain region of South America, an area known for its mountainous landscapes and diverse plant life. We believe the environment where honey is produced is an important part of its story.

Is Andes Mountain Honey 100% pure honey?

Yes! Our honey is 100% pure honey, with no added sugar, syrups, artificial flavors, or preservatives. Just honey, the way bees make it.

Is your honey raw and unpasteurized?

Yes! Our honey is raw and unpasteurized, meaning it isn't exposed to the high-heat processing used for some commercial honeys. This helps preserve its naturally occurring enzymes, delicate aromas, and other heat-sensitive compounds.

Why is unfiltered honey better?

Our honey is unfiltered, helping retain naturally occurring pollen and other components that may be beneficial for our health.

What makes Andes Mountain Honey different from regular honey?

Our honey is harvested from the high elevations of the Andes Mountains, where bees forage among rare native wildflowers and mountain plants. This unique environment gives our honey its distinctive flavor, aroma, and natural character. Our farm is located far from many major industrial areas and intensive farming operations, away from pesticides and pollution. In addition, high elevation honey often contains up to 4x more antioxidants than typical low-land honey.

Why does raw honey crystallize?

Crystallization is a completely natural process and a common characteristic of genuine honey. It doesn't mean the honey has spoiled or lost its quality.

Do you add sugar or any other ingredients?

No. Our honey contains one ingredient: honey. We do not add sugar, corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, colors, or flavorings.

Why does my honey sometimes become thick or crystallized?

Crystallization is a natural process in honey. It does not mean your honey has gone bad. In fact, many pure honeys naturally crystallize over time.

How can I make crystallized honey liquid again?

Place the tightly closed jar in a bowl of warm water and allow it to soften gradually. Avoid overheating the honey.

Can children eat Andes Mountain Honey?

Honey is suitable for many children over 12 months old. Never give honey to babies under one year of age because of the risk of infant botulism.

Is your honey vegan?

Honey is produced by bees and is generally not considered vegan. However, it is suitable for many vegetarian diets.

How should I store Andes Mountain Honey?

Store your honey tightly sealed in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.

Does honey need to be refrigerated?

No. Honey does not need refrigeration. Refrigerating honey can actually speed up crystallization.

Does honey expire?

Properly stored honey can remain safe and enjoyable for a very long time. Always follow the best-before date and storage instructions on the packaging.
